About this event
Understanding dementia and seeking information and support is a particular challenge when you are aged under 65, especially when you are still employed, raising children and often facing multiple competing diagnoses.
The Younger Onset Dementia Keyworker Program, which is not funded through the NDIS, plays a vital role to assist this group of people to navigate through a complex service system.
This presentation will provide a brief update on the services offered by Dementia Australia and present a case study to demonstrate the impact we, as an industry, can have on people's lives.
This guest lecture will:
- Deliver an overview of Dementia Australia and changes over the past year
- Provide an update on current and new support services delivered by Dementia Australia in WA
- Present a case study which illustrates the impact of dementia on a person aged under 65 years from a Vietnamese background
